God, there is a crack in my disbelief!
(Was it you who put it there?)
Regardless, I am thankful,
Grateful that light now shines through,
That fresh air stirs the dust inside.
I am not discontent or impatient,
But can I ask one more indulgence?
If you would, take your finger
(The smallest one will do just fine),
Place it in that crevice (gently!),
And wiggle it back and forth a little bit.
Widen the crack in my disbelief.
And while you’re in there, working,
Please rest for just a moment so that,
If you don’t mind, I can touch your hand.
(How can you be so soft, yet so strong?)
